Snooki’s gotten into trouble for drinking too much, but her fiancé landed in the hospital after not drinking enough.
It nearly ruined the day of Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s baby shower, which fans finally get to see in the “Snooki & JWoww” season two premiere, airing Tuesday at 10 p.m. on MTV.
While Polizzi unwraps gifts, fiancé Jionni LaValle feels numb and starts sweating on the golf course. Turns out he was dehydrated from playing softball in the heat the day before, she told the Daily News while filming an aftershow special in SoHo.
“He just doesn’t drink water,” she said. “It’s happened before, but this time he had to be given five IV bags of fluids. It’s scary. Now he drinks a lot of water.”

“Snooki & JWoww” picks up where the final season of “Jersey Shore” left off. The women are away from their party house and have settled into domestic life. Snooki’s eight months pregnant and the world now knows that Jenni “JWoww” Farley gets engaged later in the season.
Before her baby arrives, Polizzi gets a gift from an unlikely admirer — Newt Gingrich. She’s seen fawning over a stuffed elephant in the premiere, telling LaValle, “Look, Newt gave this to me — that political guy.”
But LaValle has no idea who Newt is. “He like tried to run for President or something,” she explains. “He’s really cute, though.”

Snooki and Newt actually met while both were guests on “The Tonight Show” in July. “We haven’t talked since then,” Polizzi admits, “But he was very, very nice.”
Though Snooki’s done well, between her hefty “Jersey Shore” paychecks and appearances, the couple now live in LaValle’s parents’ New Jersey home. “We just like to keep it very humble,” Polizzi says. “And we love being with our families. So no matter how much money I make, I don’t need to buy a place right away. I like it to be family-oriented. That’s why we’re there for now.”
She also turns her nose up at the high life at her country club baby shower, saying she hates to valet-park her car because she feels like that’s something rich people do. Polizzi calls the club a “classy joint” and tells her dad it needs more animal print.
While filming an after-show episode Friday to air on MTV.com, she explained she doesn’t consider herself rich. She shakes her head at the production set, which consists of a coffee table topped with tea set, tea sandwiches and macaroons.
“These plates are killing me,” she jokes to producers. “They’re so not me.” A producer tells her that’s precisely why they set it up that way, and someone else cracks that this is straight out of an awkward scene in “Pretty Woman,” where Julia Roberts’ character is clearly out of her league in high society.
“We’re like the prostitutes,” Snooki agrees.
Besides Farley, Polizzi’s other female “Jersey Shore” castmates also show up at her shower. Sammi Giancola gets designer shoes for Snooki’s son, Lorenzo. Deena Cortese brings a onesie that reads, “Party, my room. 2 a.m. Bring your own bottle.” And best bud Farley got her alcohol test strips for breast milk. “I used them,” Polizzi admits.
